A key factor in using the Sheet Metal Gusset tool is that when the Gusset function is used the adjoining faces which are to be gusseted must be connect via a fillet or bend which has continuous thickness.

Gussets are created using a solid object and two points. The solid object must have flat faces, and the points must be placed adjacent faces connected via a single fillet or bend. In the case of stiffing ribs the point may be placed on directly adjacent faces.

To create a gusset:

  1. Select the tool.
  2. Select the Sheet Metal Gusset option.
  3. Specify the Width, Fillet Radius, and Angle.
  4. Select the solid.

  7. Click Finish.

To create a stiffening rib:

  1. Select the tool.
  2. Select the Stiffening Rib option.
  3. Specify the Width, and Fillet Radius.
