Red-ling is the process of adding marks to your drawing to indicate, errors, changes, pointf of interest, or areas of inquiry.
The Red-Lining Tools are:
- Line
- Rectangle
- Circle
- Cloud
- Highlight
Line Tool
To draw a line:
- Select the Line tool
- Place your finger on the screen.
- Drag your finger to the location where you want the first end point of the line.
Note: The point will snap to elements of the drawing as you drag it.
- Lift your finger off the screen. This places the first end point of the line.
- Next, again place your finger on the screen.
- Drag your finger to the location where you want the final end point of the line.
Note: The point will snap to elements of the drawing as you drag it.
- Lift your finger off the screen. This completes the line.
OR
- Tap on the location where you want the first end point of the line.
- Then tap where you want the final end point of the line. This completes the line.
Editing Lines
To edit a line:
- Select the line.
- Adjust the points of the line by dragging the blue control nodes of the line.
Rectangle Tool
To draw a rectangle:
- Select the Rectangle tool
- Place your finger on the screen where you want the first corner point of the rectangle.
- Drag your finger to the location where you want the final corner point of the rectangle.
Note: The point will snap to elements of the drawing as you drag it.
- Lift your finger off the screen. This completes the rectangle.
OR
- Tap on the location where you want the first corner point of the rectangle.
- Then tap where you want the final corner point of the rectangle. This completes the rectangle.
Editing Rectangles
To edit a rectangle:
- Select the rectangle.
- Adjust the points of the line by dragging the blue control nodes of the rectangle.
To edit the roundness of a rectangle:
- Select the rectangle.
- Drag the yellow control node of the rectangle to increase or decrease roundness of the corners.
Circle Tool
To draw a circle:
- Select the Circle tool
- Place your finger on the screen where you want the center point of the circle.
- Drag your finger to the location where you want the radius point of the circle.
Note: The point will snap to elements of the drawing as you drag it.
- Lift your finger off the screen. This completes the circle.
OR
- Tap on the location where you want the center point of the circle.
- Then tap where you want the radius point of the circle. This completes the circle.
Editing Circles
To edit a circle:
- Select the circle.
- Adjust the points of the line by dragging the blue control nodes of the circle (center and radius).
To edit a eccentricity of a circle:
- Select the circle.
- Drag the yellow control node of the circle to increase or decrease eccentricity of the circle to make it more or less elliptical.
Cloud Tool
To draw a cloud:
- Select the Cloud tool
- Place your finger on the screen where you want the first corner of the cloud.
- Drag your finger to the location where you want the final corner of the cloud.
Note: The point will snap to elements of the drawing as you drag it.
- Lift your finger off the screen. This completes the cloud.
OR
- Tap on the location where you want the first corner of the cloud.
- Then tap where you want the final corner of the cloud. This completes the cloud.
Editing Clouds
To edit a cloud:
- Select the cloud.
- Adjust the points of the line by dragging the blue control nodes of the cloud.
Highlight Tool
To draw a highlight:
- Select the Highlight tool
- Place your finger on the screen where you want the first end point of the highlight.
- Drag your finger to the location where you want the final end point of the highlight.
Note: The point will snap to elements of the drawing as you drag it.
- Lift your finger off the screen. This completes the highlight.
OR
- Tap on the location where you want the first end point of the highlight.
- Then tap where you want the final end point of the highlight. This completes the highlight.
Editing Highlights
To edit a highlight:
- Select the highlight.
- Adjust the points of the line by dragging the blue control nodes of the highlight.
To edit the roundness of a highlight:
- Select the highlight.
- Drag the yellow control node of the highlight to increase or decrease roundness of the highlight ends.
