Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a method of creating, managing and transferring data of the physical and functional characteristics of places and things. specifically it pertains to metadata beyond the mere geometry of the artifacts.

To access BIM Data:

  1. Open a DWF or DWG file that contains object metadata
  2. Tap the Object Properties button. to open the Object Properties (BIM) palette
  3. Tap on an object in the drawing and BIM/Object palette will display its attached properties.

Most files containing BIM information have multiple components each with their own attached data.
